This is the QOOL Set with the IR-Controller (V1)!

The Qool Rail is an excellent choice for studio and home focus stacking work. It is recommended up to 50X and but we have some customers who are working up to 100x magnification with the Qool Rail. The minimum step size for this rail with 2mm pitch screw is 0.078125 μm (yes, it's really μm, so 0.000078125 mm) with the IR Controller, but practical step size is 0.3125 μm as we do not have equipment to test further. For higher magnifications and absolute precision you should look for the Ultra Rail Series.

The included IR controller works as stand alone. No laptop, PC or smartphone is required. All settings are done with the remote controller and can be saved. A 12V power supply is included in this kit but you can also use a Li-Ion battery pack to operate the rail for example outdoors. If you plan to use the QOOL also outdoors we recommend to add the tripod mount plate and if needed the square arca swiss quick release system to your order.

If you have a camera that does not support wired shutter cables you can choose the kit with the USB-controller. You can control the shutter of your camera automatically with Sony Remote, Canone EOS Utiliy or Capture One.

The rail is fully assembled, tested and fine tuned. Every single part is replaceable.

Variants to choose for your order:

1.) Length (required)

Please choose between the 200 mm or the 250 mm long rail. The travel range for the shorter variant is 120 mm, while the longer variant offers 170 mm of travel.

Length:

Short: 200 mm with 120 mm travel range
Long: 250 mm with 170 mm travel range (+ € 20.00)

2.) Motor (required)

Please choose between the standard stepper motor (200 steps/turn, 1.8 deg) and the upgraded version (400 steps/turn, 0.9 deg). This motor turns more precise and finer with less vibrations. The difference is already possible to feel when you hold the motor in the hands.
It is also possible to upgrade the motor later youtself with our motor upgrade kit.

Motor versions:

Standard: 200 steps/turn, 1.8 deg
Upgraded: 400 steps/turn, 0.9 deg (+ € 40.00)

3.) Aluminium boards (optional)

Recommended are aluminium boards on which you can mount the Qool rail. Included are all necessary screws, joining plates, t-nuts, ect.

4.) Shutter Release Cable (required)

Please choose a shutter release cable for your camera. You can find the compability list in the product description below.
