Two new finishes: Green and Titanium

Same optics, same autofocus, new look. The green version has a calm, slightly muted sage tone; the titanium version a matte, metallic grey. Both come with a lens hood and lens cap in the same colour, so the lens looks like one piece on the camera.

The matte titanium finish fits silver and retro-style camera bodies particularly well.

Green adds a quiet accent to black bodies and makes the lens easy to spot in the bag.
Why photographers pick it

A 50mm on full frame shows roughly what your eye sees. That makes it the lens for almost everything: people, streets, interiors, food, travel. You compose naturally, without exaggerated perspective, and you stay close enough to the scene to tell a story.

At f/1.8 the background falls away softly and your subject stands out clearly.

The bright aperture also buys you faster shutter speeds and lower ISO once the light fades.

The lens works with the eye and face detection of your camera and locks onto people quickly.

Useful for children, pets and candid moments where there is no second chance.

An STM stepping motor drives the focus quietly and smoothly – for stills and for video.

Focus is controlled entirely by the camera, so all its AF modes are available as usual.

With a close focusing distance of 0.48 m you get near enough for details: food, flowers, hands, small objects.

Combined with the open aperture this gives a strong subject-background separation even at short distances.

At around 156 g the lens hardly adds weight to your camera and is comfortable to carry all day.

Small enough to stay on the camera permanently – the lens you actually take with you.

Twelve elements in eight groups provide balanced image quality with good sharpness and contrast.

Seven aperture blades give an even, calm rendering of out-of-focus areas.
Deliberately reduced. There is no focus ring and no aperture ring on the barrel – aperture and focus are set from the camera. Nothing gets nudged out of position in the bag, and there is nothing to learn before the first shot.

The smooth barrel invites personalisation – stickers, custom paint or 3D-printed accessories.

TTArtisan publishes compatibility lists per camera model. On a few bodies the manufacturer marks the lens as partially compatible, meaning autofocus performance may be limited. Please check your model below – or write to us and we will check it for you before you order.
Firmware updates: the rear cap has a USB-C port through which the lens firmware can be updated. You need a USB-C cable that supports data transfer; Windows 10 or later is recommended.

Frequently asked questions
Do the green and titanium versions differ technically from the black one?
No. Optical design, autofocus and specifications are the same – only the colour of the barrel, lens hood and cap differs.
Does it really have no focus ring?
Correct. Focus is handled by the autofocus, controlled from the camera. If you regularly focus manually, a lens with a focus ring is the better choice.
Does eye autofocus work?
Yes. The lens supports the eye and face detection of your camera. On a few models the manufacturer lists limited AF performance – see the compatibility tables above.
Can I use it on an APS-C body?
Yes. On an APS-C camera with the same mount the field of view corresponds to approx. 75 mm – a classic short portrait lens.
Which filters fit?
Standard 52 mm screw-in filters. A lens hood is included.
When will it ship?
According to the manufacturer, first deliveries start in mid-November 2026.
