The LAOWA 25mm f / 2.8 2.5-5X ultra-macro lens enables extreme macro shots of the highest quality at an affordable price with all full-frame cameras. It has a thin tube, is light and has an extended working distance. The magnification scale ranges from 2.5: 1 to 5: 1 and thus enables the macro photographer to depict objects of different sizes in full format.
The construction, consisting of 8 elements in 6 groups and one element with low dispersion, guarantees outstanding sharpness at the different image scales and reduces chromatic aberration to an absolute minimum to avoid color fringing. The wide-angle construction results in a different perspective than with telephoto focal lengths, since a larger section can be seen from the background. The lens was specially developed for macro photography and can only be focused in this area. Thanks to the extended shooting distance (40mm at 5x magnification), the object can be illuminated properly.
The focus is adjusted manually, as is the aperture setting. Thanks to the low weight of less than 450 grams and the small tube diameter, the lens is suitable for outdoor use as well as in the studio or laboratory. A tripod clamp is optionally available. This allows the lens to be attached directly to the tripod head. This offers the photographer better design options from different angles.
