Direct Connection Ring for Rapido FMJ and VVD Vazen Variable Diopter

<ul> <li>Front side: 70mm OD and clamp to fit Vazen Variable Diopter (Kowa 16-H version)</li> <li>Rear side: M75x0.75 female thread to fit Rapido FMJ-16</li> </ul> <strong>Important note: Only use this with the KOWA 16-H version of the Vazen Variable Diopter. The ISCO ULTRASTAR version of the VVD WILL NOT WORK.</strong> <p>The purpose of this kit is to attach the Vazen Variable Diopter to the Rapido FMJ-16 (Front Metal Jacket) or other anamorphic accessories with a male M75x0.75 front thread.</p> <p>You will need your own Vazen Variable Diopter (VVD) and Rapido FMJ-16 anamorphic setup.</p> <p>Installation instructions:</p> <ol> <li>Fully thread the Direct Connection (DC) ring onto the front of the FMJ, then secure using the lock screw on the DC ring. Do not overtighten, it just needs to stop the DC ring from unthreading.</li> <li>Slide the VVD’s rear all the way into the DC ring’s front. Tighten each of the six clamp screws gradually and evenly. Do not overtighten. This is the step where you set the position of your VVD’s focus markings.</li> <li>OPTIONAL: To reduce the air gap between the front of your anamorphic and the VVD, you can push your anamorphic forward in your Rapido V3 clamp, so that it protrudes from the FMJ’s front. With wider anamorphic lenses such as the Kowa 16-H, you will need to remove your lens’ front ring and secure it with tape so it will fit through the FMJ’s front. Example photos with the Kowa 16-H are provided. Be careful not to touch or scratch the VVD’s rear glass with the anamorphic lens.</li> </ol>
