You would like to determine your real magnification but a normal ruler is not exact enough? This basic micrometer calibration tool has 1/100 mm (0.01 mm) markings on the glass. The tool comes together with a plastic case.
How to calculate the exact magnification?
For this you need to know length of your sensor and take a photo from this micrometer calibration tool.
Real Magnification = Sensor Width in mm / number of mm captured in your photo
Example: The sensor size for a Canon APS-C camera is 22.3 x 14.9 mm.
If you take a photo from the micrometer calibration tool and cover 3.35 mm width with your sensor then the actual real magnification is:
22.3 / 3.35 = 6,66 magnification
If you are ordering OUTSIDE of EU: Please contact us to place your order without VAT. We will send you an invoice excluding 20% tax.
